Podcasts Are Being Served Up On the YouTube Music App (And How You Need to Prepare Your Podcast)

Every morning, I'm at the bus stop with a Bluetooth speaker that I turn up for the neighborhood kids. There's one kid, Declan, who lives across the street and absolutely loves AC/DC. He's always wearing his AC/DC shirt, so one day I decided to surprise him by playing 'Back in Black'. The kid went nuts, he loved it. And ever since then, our mornings start with an AC/DC song before moving on to something from the 80s.

YouTube Music App Now Supports Podcasts

The interesting part of this story, though, is what happened when I went to my YouTube Music app to play AC/DC. I noticed that it now said, "podcasts now available". We've been waiting for this feature, and it's finally here. A few episodes back, I mentioned that YouTube was preparing to release podcasts on the YouTube Music app. Now that it's here, all you need to do is upload your podcast to your YouTube account. Make sure you create a playlist called "Podcast" so that YouTube knows to make it available to listeners on the Music app.

The Advantages of YouTube Music Podcasts

The real beauty of this feature is that it not only allows your audience to listen to your audio but also to watch your video if you have one. It's an opportunity that you should definitely take advantage of. As of now, the only way to get onto the YouTube Music app is by uploading your podcast to YouTube. The biggest advantage of doing so is that you get to leverage the vast reach of YouTube's search engine. YouTube is the second biggest search engine, so you shouldn't miss out on the chance to let new listeners discover your podcast.

How To Upload Your Podcast

So, here's the quick rundown again. Upload your podcast to the YouTube app, ensure it's under the "Podcast" playlist option, and use relevant keywords, tags, and compelling descriptions. This will increase your chances of your podcast being discovered. If you have any questions or need any assistance, feel free to reach out to me. I'm here to help.
