Real Estate Agents: What Should Be Your Top Priority for 2023?

-Dave Lawson

According to a recent survey out of Chicago, lead generation tops the list of priorities for real estate agents in the coming year, followed closely by managing existing contacts, being more consistent, and building better brand awareness. And I'm not surprised by these findings, as they resonate across the country, including here in Minneapolis, where I work with real estate agents.

In my opinion, you can't achieve one of these priorities without focusing on the others. For example, better use of social media was identified as a top priority for real estate agents, and this supports the need for consistency and brand awareness.

The best way to impact social media is by showcasing your genuine self, producing quality content that establishes yourself as an authority, builds your identity, reaches a broader audience, improves your search engine rankings, and fosters engagement and relationships.

But staying consistent is tough, especially when you're doing it all on your own.

So, I want to share three tips to help you stay consistent and build your brand identity through social media.

First, set a schedule. Put content creation time on your calendar, whether one hour on a Sunday or an entire weekend, to plan out content for the month. If it's not on your calendar, it doesn't exist.

Second, repurpose existing content. You've likely written blogs or produced social media pieces on LinkedIn or Facebook. Use this content to create video or audio podcasts or both.

And third, get help. Find someone in your office to keep you accountable and consistent, or use outside help from agencies like Digital Legend Media.

In conclusion, lead generation, managing existing contacts, being more consistent, and building better brand awareness are the top priorities for real estate agents in 2023. To achieve these goals, focus on quality content creation, genuine self-showcasing, and consistency through a set schedule, repurposing existing content, and getting help when needed.
