The Good and Bad News About AI For Podcasters

-Dave Lawson

Today, we're diving into AI and how it's revolutionizing the podcasting landscape. We'll cover why podcasters need AI technology, the good news for podcasters, and some of the not-so-good news we can't avoid.

Why do podcasters need AI technology? There's a lot involved in the podcasting process, from recording and editing to transcription, social media production, and uploading to the host. AI can help streamline this process, making it easier and more efficient for podcasters.

I recently came across an article on MarkTech discussing 23 AI tools for podcasters. After exploring these tools, it's clear that there's no excuse for delaying the launch of that podcast you've been dreaming about. Recording, editing, and publishing are now a breeze, as well as generating show notes, quotes, and social media content.

The most common features and services these AI-powered podcasting tools provide include audio transcription, editing, noise reduction, and content generation.

A standout feature offered by many podcasting AI tools is the text-to-editor function. This tool provides a transcribed version of your podcast. Deleting a word or phrase automatically edits out the corresponding audio – even the video if you're a Riverside.FM user.

So, what does this new technology mean for podcasters?

The Good News is: Anyone can become a podcaster. All barriers are gone, and creating a high-quality podcast with processed audio and music is within reach – a significant cost-saving compared to hiring professional audio editors.

The Bad News: You still have to put in the work. Defining your audience, setting goals, planning your listeners' journey, brainstorming topics, writing show notes, contacting guests, scheduling episodes, and recording the episode all fall on you. AI might have demolished the technological barriers, but it can't replace your role in creating the content – at least, not yet.

While these AI tools are impressive, they will never replace having a team of expert podcast strategists that will push your content to the next level. So, don't wait any longer – hit the button and schedule an appointment to either start an audio or video podcast or grow the one you already have.
